- 3 ounces Reposado Tequila
- 1 1/2 ounces Cointreau or High-Quality Triple Sec
- 1 1/2 ounces Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 1 ounce Pure Maple Syrup (Grade A Dark or Very Dark)
- 2 ounces Unsweetened Cranberry Juice (100% juice)
- Ice (As needed)
- Lime wheels or wedges (for garnish)
- Fresh or frozen cranberries (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Rim Mix: In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar, sea salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg/allspice. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
- Rim the Glasses: Take a lime wedge and run it around the outside edge of the glass rim to moisten it.
- Coat: Dip the moist rim into the spice mixture, ensuring an even, light coating. Set the glasses aside.
- Measure and Combine: Pour the Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, pure maple syrup, and cranberry juice into the cocktail shaker reservoir.
- Add Ice and Chill: Fill the cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice. Seal the shaker tightly.
- Shake Vigorously: Shake the cocktail hard and fast for 15 to 20 seconds. This is crucial for proper chilling and dilution.
- Strain: Double strain the mixture into the prepared, spiced-rimmed glasses.
- Garnish: Garnish each drink with a lime wheel perched on the rim and float 2-3 fresh cranberries in the glass. Serve immediately.
