Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) Whole Milk, very cold
- 2 tablespoons (25g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) Vanilla Extract (optional)
- 1 tablespoon (15g) Unflavored Gelatin powder
- 3 tablespoons (45ml) cold water
Instructions:
- Mix gelatin and cold water in a small saucepan. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften.
- Gently heat the gelatin mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil! Let cool slightly.
- In the chilled mixing bowl, combine the cold milk and sugar.
- Gradually pour the slightly cooled gelatin mixture into the milk mixture.
- Using an electric mixer (hand or stand), begin whipping on medium speed, gradually increasing to high.
- Continue whipping until stiff peaks form. This can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, depending on your mixer. Watch closely!
- If using, gently fold in the vanilla extract with a rubber spatula.
- For a firmer texture, chill the whipped cream in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes before serving.
