Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) salt
- 1 tsp (4g) baking powder
- 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water
- 2 tbsp (30ml) plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp (15ml) vegetable oil
- 1 cup (240ml) pizza sauce
- 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (70g) diced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup (70g) sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup (15g) fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix in yogurt and oil, then gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), or set up your pizza stone inside if using.
- Divide the rested dough into 4 equal pieces. On a floured surface, roll out each piece into a round flatbread, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place the rolled naan on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 3-4 minutes until just starting to puff and set but not browned.
- Remove naan from the oven and spread a generous layer of pizza sauce on each. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Add your choice of toppings.
- Return naan pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil if desired, and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve immediately and enjoy!
