Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) salt
  • 1 tsp (4g) baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (240ml) pizza sauce
  • 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (70g) diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup (70g) sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup (15g) fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix in yogurt and oil, then gradually add warm water until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C), or set up your pizza stone inside if using.
  3. Divide the rested dough into 4 equal pieces. On a floured surface, roll out each piece into a round flatbread, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Place the rolled naan on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 3-4 minutes until just starting to puff and set but not browned.
  5. Remove naan from the oven and spread a generous layer of pizza sauce on each. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Add your choice of toppings.
  6. Return naan pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil if desired, and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve immediately and enjoy!
