Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup (90g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder, Dutch-processed preferred
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) baking powder
- 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (160g) Nutella, slightly warmed
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk in both granulated and brown sugar until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Dollop spoonfuls of warmed Nutella over the brownie batter. Use a toothpick or skewer to swirl the Nutella into the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached (not wet batter).
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.
- Cut into 16 squares and serve.
