- 4 fillets of white fish (e.g., cod or tilapia, approx. 6 oz / 170 g each)
- ½ cup (60 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) paprika
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 g) black pepper
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons (½ stick or 56 g) unsalted butter
- Zest of 1 lemon (about 1 teaspoon / 5 g)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions:
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge each fish fillet in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the fish fillets in the skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add lemon zest and lemon juice; stir to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Place the cooked fish on plates; drizzle with lemon butter sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
