Ingredients:

  • 2 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 3/4 to 1 cup toasted and finely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, blend the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  2. Mix in garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  3. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish, forming it into a ring shape with a hollow center.
  4. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until golden and fragrant. Chop finely.
  5. Press the chopped pecans onto the outer surface of the cheese ring.
  6. Spoon strawberry preserves into the hollow center of the cheese ring.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  8. Present with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.
