Ingredients:
- 2 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup softened cream cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- 3/4 to 1 cup toasted and finely chopped pecans
- 1 cup strawberry preserves
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Mix in garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Transfer the mixture to a serving dish, forming it into a ring shape with a hollow center.
- Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until golden and fragrant. Chop finely.
- Press the chopped pecans onto the outer surface of the cheese ring.
- Spoon strawberry preserves into the hollow center of the cheese ring.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Present with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.
