Ingredients:
- 1 head of garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Using a sharp knife, slice off the top of the garlic head, exposing the cloves.
- Place garlic head on a piece of aluminum foil or in an oven-safe dish. Drizzle with olive oil, ensuring cloves are coated. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- If using foil, wrap the garlic head tightly, creating a sealed packet.
- Place wrapped garlic head (or oven-safe dish) in the preheated oven. Roast for 45-60 minutes, or until the cloves are very soft and golden brown.
- To test for doneness, gently squeeze the garlic head. The cloves should be easily squeezed out of their papery skins.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins into a bowl.
