Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs / 680 g)
  • 1/4 cup (85 g) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey and soy sauce. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts, cooking until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken, then pour the honey-soy mixture over the top. Continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove chicken from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro if desired, then slice and serve.
