- 1 1/2 teaspoons (7g) active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 teaspoons (7g) salt
- 1 1/4 cups (300ml) warm water (approximately 110°F/43°C)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt.
- Pour in warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, shape it into a round loaf, and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Using a sharp knife, make a shallow slash or cross on the surface of the dough.

- Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
