Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados, pitted and flesh scooped out (approximately 300g / 10.5 oz)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (approximately 45g / 1.6 oz)
- 1/2 cup maple syrup (approximately 120ml / 4 fl oz)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk, approximately 60ml / 2 fl oz)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (approximately 5ml / 0.17 fl oz)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Optional toppings: Fresh berries, chocolate shavings, a dollop of coconut cream
Instructions:
- Place avocado, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a food processor or blender.
- Process until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. Ensure no avocado chunks remain.
- Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness (add more maple syrup) or cocoa powder (for a richer chocolate flavor) as desired.
- Divide the mousse evenly among the serving dishes.
- Cover the dishes with plastic wrap or lids and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a firmer consistency.
- Before serving, garnish with desired toppings like fresh berries, chocolate shavings, or coconut cream.
