Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados, pitted and flesh scooped out (approximately 300g / 10.5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (approximately 45g / 1.6 oz)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (approximately 120ml / 4 fl oz)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk, approximately 60ml / 2 fl oz)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (approximately 5ml / 0.17 fl oz)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Optional toppings: Fresh berries, chocolate shavings, a dollop of coconut cream

Instructions:

  1. Place avocado, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a food processor or blender.
  2. Process until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. Ensure no avocado chunks remain.
  3. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness (add more maple syrup) or cocoa powder (for a richer chocolate flavor) as desired.
  4. Divide the mousse evenly among the serving dishes.
  5. Cover the dishes with plastic wrap or lids and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a firmer consistency.
  6. Before serving, garnish with desired toppings like fresh berries, chocolate shavings, or coconut cream.
