Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (about 1/8 teaspoon)

Instructions:

  1. Sift the powdered sugar into the mixing bowl to remove any lumps.
  2. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the bowl with the sifted powdered sugar.
  3. Whisk until smooth and glossy, adding more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, if needed to reach desired consistency. The glaze should be thin enough to easily coat a doughnut but not so thin that it runs off completely. Aim for the consistency of single cream.
  4. Place the wire rack over the baking sheet.
  5. Dip each doughnut into the glaze, coating it completely.
  6. Place the glazed doughnuts on the wire rack to allow the excess glaze to drip off. This will create that beautiful, shiny finish.
  7. Allow the glaze to set for about 15-20 minutes before serving.
