  • 4 ounces (113g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder
  • ¼ cup (60ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlua)
  • 8 ounces (227g) mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, cold
  • ¼ cup (30g) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Brownie Batter: Melt butter and chocolate. Whisk in sugar, then eggs and vanilla. Gently fold in dry ingredients (flour, salt, cocoa powder, espresso powder).
  2. Bake the Brownies: Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until set but still fudgy. Let cool completely.
  3. Make the Coffee Soak: Combine cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
  4. Soak the Brownies: Generously drizzle coffee mixture over the cooled brownies. Allow to soak in.
  5. Prepare the Mascarpone Cream: Beat mascarpone, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overbeat!
  6. Assemble the Tiramisu Brownies: Spread the mascarpone cream evenly over the coffee-soaked brownies.
  7. Chill the Brownies: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the cream to set up.
