Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1-2 tablespoons (12-25g) granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup (60ml) whole milk or cream
- 1 cup (240ml) milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: 1-2 shots (1-2oz/30-60ml) espresso or strong coffee
Instructions:
- In the saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in the 1/4 cup of milk or cream to form a smooth paste.
- Slowly whisk in the remaining milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until hot but not boiling.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. For mocha, stir in the espresso or strong coffee.
- Pour into your favorite mug and top with your favorite toppings.
