Ingredients:
- 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (45 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175 g) semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup (90 g) white chocolate chunks (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs, one at a time, then blend in vanilla extract until incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chunks using a spatula.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Using a scoop or spoon, portion dough onto lined baking sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
