Ingredients:
- 8 oz (227 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Ensure cream cheese and butter have been softened to room temperature.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and unsalted butter. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually sift in powdered sugar (1 cup at a time) while mixing on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed until fully incorporated.
- Mix in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, continuing to beat until smooth and fluffy.
- If frosting is too thick, add a splash of milk (1 tsp at a time), mixing until desired consistency is reached.
- Use immediately to frost your baked goods or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
