Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can (21 oz) lemon pie filling
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray, butter, or oil.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and melted butter. Mix until you achieve a crumbly texture.
  4. Take half of the crumb mixture and evenly spread it across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Press it down lightly.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk the softened cream cheese with the lemon pie filling until smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese and lemon mixture over the crumb base evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top of the filling.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes, then slice into squares and serve.
