Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (about 3 oranges)
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Juice the oranges and limes, and measure out the juice into a mixing bowl or jar.
  2. Add the minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the juice.
  3. Whisk the mixture until well combined.
  4. Slowly stream in the olive oil while continuously whisking to emulsify the mixture.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Refrigerate the mojo criollo for at least 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  7. Serve or use as a marinade for meats or drizzling over cooked dishes.
