Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) Whole Milk, lukewarm (105-115°F / 40-46°C)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
- 1/4 cup (50g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon (6g) Salt
- 1/4 cup (57g) Unsalted Butter, melted, plus more for greasing
- 1 Large Egg, lightly beaten
- 3 - 3 1/2 cups (360-420g) All-Purpose Flour, plus more for dusting
- 2 tablespoons (28g) Unsalted Butter, melted
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine lukewarm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter and lightly beaten egg to the yeast mixture. Whisk to combine.
- Gradually add the flour, starting with 3 cups (360g), to the wet ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface or use a stand mixer with a dough hook. Knead for 6-8 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic, adding more flour as needed to prevent sticking.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Gently punch down the dough to release the air. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball.
- Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, about 1 inch apart. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 30-45 minutes, or until almost doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are still hot, brush generously with melted butter.
- Let the rolls cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving. Enjoy this amazing dinner rolls recipe!
