Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) Whole Milk, lukewarm (105-115°F / 40-46°C)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (6g) Salt
  • 1/4 cup (57g) Unsalted Butter, melted, plus more for greasing
  • 1 Large Egg, lightly beaten
  • 3 - 3 1/2 cups (360-420g) All-Purpose Flour, plus more for dusting
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) Unsalted Butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine lukewarm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter and lightly beaten egg to the yeast mixture. Whisk to combine.
  3. Gradually add the flour, starting with 3 cups (360g), to the wet ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface or use a stand mixer with a dough hook. Knead for 6-8 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic, adding more flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Gently punch down the dough to release the air. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball.
  7. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, about 1 inch apart. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 30-45 minutes, or until almost doubled in size.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are still hot, brush generously with melted butter.
  10. Let the rolls cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving. Enjoy this amazing dinner rolls recipe!
