Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (227g) Cream Cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (113g) Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ¼ cups (156g) All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) Salt
  • 1 ½ cups (255g) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a large bowl, cream softened cream cheese, butter, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Cover and chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies (optional).
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set but still soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
