Ingredients:
- 8 oz (227g) Cream Cheese, softened
- ½ cup (113g) Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) Vanilla Extract
- 1 ¼ cups (156g) All-Purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) Baking Powder
- ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) Salt
- 1 ½ cups (255g) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- In a large bowl, cream softened cream cheese, butter, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Cover and chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies (optional).
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set but still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
