Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
- 1 teaspoon (5g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5g) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5g) Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices (120g) sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 slices (120g) pepper jack cheese
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 tablespoons (60g) mayonnaise
- 1 cup (150g) lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Pickles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Mix gently until just combined, then divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
- Place patties on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Place patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Flip patties, add cheese on top, and grill for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- While patties are grilling, spread softened butter on each brioche bun.
- Toast buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add a grilled beef patty with melted cheese, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles if desired.
- Top with the other half of the bun.
