Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups (250g) dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) heavy cream
- 4 oz (115g) kataifi pastry, thawed
- 4 tablespoons (55g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Fresh berries (strawberries or raspberries) for serving
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the baking dish by lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Set up a double boiler or microwave. Combine chopped dark chocolate and heavy cream until smooth and melted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Gently separate and fluff the kataifi pastry, then drizzle the butter mixture over it and toss until evenly coated.
- Spread half of the melted chocolate in the prepared baking dish. Layer the kataifi mixture evenly on top of the chocolate, then pour the remaining chocolate over the kataifi, smoothing the top.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until set.
- Cut into bars and serve warm or at room temperature, accompanied by berries and whipped cream, if desired.
