Ingredients:
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 6 cloves garlic, minced (about 2 tablespoons)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 loaf Italian or French bread (baguette or similar), about 12-16 inches long
- 1 cup (113g) shredded mozzarella cheese (or a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined. Let sit for 5 minutes for the flavors to meld.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the bread loaf lengthwise.
- Generously spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the garlic butter.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet (lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the garlic bread cool slightly before slicing into individual portions. Serve immediately.
